I wonder if we can just grind rice to make the “flour”?

^^^
Ok…I just took some rice that I was going to throw out (bag was old) and grinded in the coffee grinder and got powder. So, that could be used as a cheap dry shampoo? (heck, i may leave some coffee grounds in there next time to “tint” the flour…lol)

And, if so, then I could grind some fresher rice, and use as a gravy thickener like the Amazon link?

@MotherOfDragons

IF this works, I’ll grind larger quantities in my Vitamix.

Silver eyeliner on your waterline (inside your lower eyelid) makes your eyes look bigger and brighter. <<<

What brand do you use for tightlining? and does it stay? is it waterproof?

The only eyeliner that works for me for waterline application is this one:

It is a breeze to apply (says BB who rarely wears makeup!), and it comes in silver, too.

@mom2collegekids my body chemistry tends to eat all makeup, but the best I’ve found for silver (and all color) eyeliner is Urban Decay and HIP. It is fairly waterproof, but after a few hours all that blinking tends to wear it off. But I’d say you have at least three hours of bright eyes before it all goes to hell in a handbasket

That Chanel eyeliner is impossible to wash off unless you do what Tish Jett suggested in her book.

I agree, @BunsenBurner , I just can’t make myself pay that much for eyeliner!

Holy JP MOrgan, it is now $33! The last tube I bought was $28. LOL, I still have it. I wipe the tip of the liner with 70% IPA after each application to keep it fresh… so for me, it lasts a loooooooong time.

Do check if your library has the abovementioned book. It is full of great beauty advice.

OK!

now, if I can only find a mascara that doesn’t end up smeared around my eyes. I have deepset eyes and I’ve tried LOTS of brands… I don’t know if my moisturizer is the problem or my oily skin.

I’ve given up on mascara. I look better wearing it but it’s too much hassle everyday. I’ve gotten lashes dyed in the past but the results don’t last long. I’ve done eyelash extensions which i loved but a) I developed an allergy to the adhesive and b) the fills are too much $$ to maintain.

@BunsenBurner …what does Chanel call “silver”?

@Pizzagirl I love the extensions, but I also developed an allergy…started as an itch in one spot on the eyelid. After that, I stopped because I feared it would get worse.

If there’s a hypoallergenic glue, I will try again.

Sephora Nano is also recommended for the waterline.

Oh I have a good one!

A year ago, i was despairing over my arms…i’m light skinned and i have various freckles and age spots and the opposite of a smooth look. I took a tube of BB cream off my kid’s make-up counter and spread it on my arms below the elbow and hands. Wow, it looks great! And stays on all day.

A simple thing but I can roll up my sleeves at work again.

I went through my makeup bag trying to find the silver eye crayon, but apparently kiddo took off with it. Arrrgh. Bummer. I recall it was a special collection of colors, so it might be a store only deal.

The 2 black ones I have are black/Ebene (#10) and dark charcoal/Ardoise (#912).

A-ha, here is the silver one!

I had crazy, frizzy hair before menopause. Now it’s pretty straight. A tip my hairdresser gave me for in-between wash days is to dry your dry hair. If you have frizzy or curly hair that goes crazy on humid days, just blow-dry the dry hair. Now that my hair is straight, on non-wash days I curl it with a curling iron and just leave it–no hairspray or anything. it comes back to life and becomes shiny again.

I always had nice legs and my calves and ankles have stayed thin. About ten years ago I developed age freckles. They are large and dark and there are hundreds of them. Any tips for making them fade? Would BB cream work for occasions when I want to wear a dress and want my legs to look like I’m wearing stockings? I tried some $40+ nude stockings (can’t remember brand) and they lasted one wear before running. Bleh.

ok…I’ve ordered the eyeliner. For that price, I hope it works.

I will also get the Sephora one when I’m near that store.

The sephora forum recommended a Lancome mascara for no smuding. Hypnose Drama. I’ll try that.

I sure hope that happens to me. My hair got frizzy at puberty, so I wondered if menopause would return it to how it was. FINALLY seeing signs of menopause (thank God!)

I, too, would blowdry dry frizzy hair from humidity. I’ve even brought a blowdryer with me to places where I know my hair will go wild and I can sneak into a bathroom and return things to normal. ha!

I have long used a non-smearing darker-colored liquid face makeup on my legs to make them look tanner. Be sure to let it well dry before putting clothes on. I hate the smell of self tanners.

What is the difference between BB and CC creams. I know that BB stands for Beauty Balm, and CC stands for Color Correction…but does one actually improve skin (rather than just superficially better the look of skin).

Re: Mascara. I wore Aziza Mascara with Sealer for years, but I cannot find it anymore. It was the only mascara that was really waterproof.
