Because Chancing Ivy League Schools Gets Old Sometimes...

Ok, I just today received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, gold level, upon the completion of a volunteer internship. However, I am already applied everywhere I want to go. Is it out of line to report this to schools that have not decided on me yet, or should I just leave well enough alone?

dunno why you wouldn’t consider applying to those schools…salutatorian, 33ACT, solid EC’s…id say you have a good shot at all of them

I think you definately have an amazing shot at the schools you are applying… I almost think that those schools are too low for you!!

What happened in your SAT II’s?? Just wondering, because it seems like you are perfect otherwise…

I plain and simple wasn’t ready for them to be honest.

They were tests like I had never seen having not taken any real APs (as they aren’t offered), and I just didn’t comprehend the amount of studying and the type of studying it would take. For US History I was looking for the “What” test and I got the “Why” test, if that makes any sense.

I took one AP class online, but the instructor neglected to inform me of when the test would be, which was a downer.

I don’t know if these schools are too low for me necessarily, but I would like to try another reach or two, say Bowdoin or Emory, possibly Vandy. Maybe even a less selective Ivy, just to see, but that would completely blow the title of my post.

Scratch applying to Bowdoin or Emory, I called an admissions rep at one of those schools, got his answering machine, left my name and number at about 10 o’clock and never received a call back.

I’m pretty sure adcoms don’t take Christmas off this early, and if they don’t care to return my calls I don’t care to attend their school.

So scratch those.
