Become an Irrational Millionaire

Here at CC, we lots of posts from members who (apparently) view college primarily as a vehicle to a lucrative career. There’s nothing wrong with seeking financial success, though there IS a lot wrong with choosing a career you don’t expect to enjoy (or know very little about) purely because of the financial rewards it may offer. Here’s an interesting article with nine characteristics taken from the Millionaire Mind: Latest News - News Viewer - MarketWatch;

Note that most of these points show that there are MANY paths to financial success, that academic hyper-achievement or a degree from a top school isn’t a prerequisite, and that really enjoying what you do IS usually a key requirement.

Well one problem, we don’t want money at its own time, we want money NOW, and by the truckloads. Why else do we try so hard in high school and college? So we can go to a good college, and so we can get a good high-paying job, so we can enjoy that instant gratification thing.

tru dat… i wanna pay my college bills back lol

some people become millionaires after dropping out of HS, maybe we shouldn’t graduate high school either…

/end sarcasm

Most don’t realize that with simple networking and social skills you can receive instant gratification (salary wise) regardless of your high school grades/sat scores/college nameplate. For those finance specific junkies–One can always go to Podunk University, bypass graduate school and go for his CFA. The CFA is almost…if not more prestigious than most MBAs. It only costs 1000 dollars and requires 250 hours of studying a year (for 3 yrs). I just wanted to throw that out there so you might be aware of the other paths that exsist.
