I’m going to be starting undergrad at 22 so that means that for my junior year I will submit my FAFSA as an independent (since I will be 24).
If the government considers me independent, does that mean that private universities consider me independent and don’t look at my parents assets/income anymore?

Good question.

You should be OK at the “FAFSA only” privates, but I don’t know what the “CSS profile” privates will do to you. You need to ask the financial aid offices at the schools that you are interested in.

Good Luck!

Hmm…good question. You need to check with the schools.
