bed height

Hi Again,

Can anyone tell me how high the beds are? I’m trying to figure out what kind of storage unit I can fit under the bed. I’d like to put a footlocker under there, but maybe that’s too high?

Are bed risers allowed?

Thanks.

Technically, no. In reality? I bought some.

Can anyone guess the space height from the floor the the bed frame?

Would a rolling footlocker fit under a dorm bed (I saw some pretty reasonably priced, but functional looking ones at

Thanks arbiter re: the risers.

Is there any room in the closet for any kind of narrow drawers? I’m in Elder if that makes a difference.

Please someone try to guesstimate the bed height for bin-type purposes. I’m traveling a long way and storage is big issue for me.

a mom here…you might also check with your peer advisor, or dorm president(not sure of student’s title). My DD is in another dorm, and she had emails from these 2 people and was able to get that question answered.

i would say the beds are about a foot off the ground. if you want to store boxes or anything large under your bed, you’ll probably have to get bed risers – which technically aren’t allowed, but a lot of people use them anyway.

it depends on your dorm too-some dorms have about a foot clearance underneath; my dorm’s beds have adjustable heights so i can get maybe 3-4 ft underneath
