Been out of school long time and need to pass SAT.

<p>ok guys hear me out… interesting story.</p>

<p>I’ve been out of school for about 9 years and I’m trying to get back into school. I have one in mind but the last thing I need to submit to get in are my SAT scores.</p>

<p>I’ve already signed up to take it in just under a month. But the issue I’m worried about is since I’ve not been in school for so long can I legitamately pass this thing? I’ve actually bought a big study guide book (2014,2015 version) that seems to be the be all end all of SAT study books. I thought that would help me alot.</p>

<p>But do you guys have any advise for me? I could really use some guidance here. I’m going to try and find the SAT score requirements I need in order to get it later and show you guys.</p>

<p>oh ok. I found the SAT requirements they want:</p>

<p>•Minimum Test Scores: SAT- 820 (Verbal/Critical Reading) “unconditional”
•Minimum Test Scores: SAT- 710 (Verbal/Critical Reading) “conditional”</p>

<p>Looking at the requirements again, it doesn’t seem they care that much about math as it’s not listed, which is a good thing for me because I am terrible at math!</p>

<p>What school are you applying to? Most schools usually weight M+CR, I’ve never heard of a school that asks for CR+W. </p>

<p>Regardless, if that’s what they want, sit down when you have a free afternoon (even today is not a bad idea) and take a whole practice test, and then score yourself. If you are hitting above 820 on CR+W, then I would just take a practice test every week or so to keep your skills up. </p>

<p>If you are below 710, then you will need to prep more intensely. Will your school still accept scores from the November SAT? There are plenty of people who are more helpful than me over at the Test Prep board on this site. Take a look at some of the pinned threads. </p>

<p>start doing practice tests. For questions you get wrong, look at the answer of how they solved it.</p>

<p>I think the web site has a typo (or at least is incomplete). If you click further into the document they have a link to, you will see this:</p>

<p>Unconditional Admission

  1. An official high school transcript or GED
  2. Passage of any state mandated examination used as a high school exit examination
  3. High school grade point average that is equal to or greater than a “C+” (2.50 on a 4.00 scale)
  4. SAT Reasoning Test-I total score of 820 (Critical Reading & Math) or an ACT score of 17 </p>

<p>Conditional Admission </p>

<ol>
<li>An official high school transcript or GED </li>
<li>Passage of any state mandated examination used as a high school exit examination </li>
<li>High School grade point average 2.50 on a 4.00 scale </li>
<li>SAT Reasoning Test-I total score of 710 - 819 (Critical Reading/Verbal & Math) or an ACT composite score of 15-16. </li>
</ol>

<p>So you need CR+ Math of 820 to get unconditional admission. Not very high, hopefully you will be able to do achieve that.</p>
