LOL. Stupidest story I’ve ever read in my life.

You guys are morons for believing it. You think China could take the PR hit if this were true? They’re already in hot water, why would they make it worse.

Actually, I have personally seen heinous treatment of anyone of darker skin (regardless of whether the person is actually black, though it’s more prominent if the person is black) when I studied abroad there last year.

I doubt the government would actually ban blacks, but I wouldn’t put it past the locals to.

Asian countries are xenophobic because their populations are… rather homogeneous =P

My grandfather, aged 76, still reminisces vividly about when he saw his first white man. He talks about the Briton as if he were a monster, with his huge nose, his YELLOW hair, and pale skin. If you’ve spent most of your life in a society and culture where everyone has similar physical characteristics, it’s going to be kind of shocking to see someone different.

From what I’ve seen (which I’m well aware is not much) those who came across as racist were uneducated, and in most cases, poor.
Whereas those who had some level of higher education and wealthier didn’t tend to display the same reaction as the formers did.

I don’t think it is a problem with homogeneous Chinese race. Chinese race is in fact very diverse!
As a Chinese native who has been living in China for 14 years, and dedicating his remaining pathetic life on the study of oriental beings, I think Chinese people have an inferiority complex, namely, the desire to be white. Chinese ppl often call themselves huang zhong ren, or yellow people, which is really nothing but a legacy of old colonialism. The word Yellow Peril was coined by German Kaiser in the late 20th century to justify the European involvement in the boxer rebellion. Now, in majority of western countries, Chinese, together with Indians and Japanese, have been called Asians instead, a more politically correct term than yellow people. But the anachronism of the word usage in china today demonstrates the remnant of colonial inferiority complex here and there. Pale skin, or resemblance to European overlords, has became something to look up to; while darker skin its automatic opposite. It is sad to see how Chinese have screwed themselves up in the infinite longing for becoming white people.
Chinese government and Chinese people are relatively backward in terms of their anthropological knowledges, and the application of democratic principles for all is almost nonsense. Relativism together with absolutism are used to justify a rather obscure Chinese mentality. We see Confucian ideologies in Chinese government today juxtaposed with late capitalism and Marxism, how bizarre? IT is just as bizarre as that big freaking egg in the middle of Tiananmeng squre. It seems that Chinese today still have their minds pinned to the early 20th century European ideologies…
I’m already afraid of the resemblance of this olympics to the german olympics in the 30s… o_O what’s next, china? Taiwan or mongolia, maybe nuke japan, too?

and wait, this is not the first incidence where Chinese are racist. U may think west is very racist, but when you cross exam those cultures, u find racists here and there.

Can’t blame them considering the usual hypocritical ire that is raised by those who are indignant about eating dogs while scarfing down factory-farmed meat.

But it’s not as if all 56 ethnicities are equal in number. That’s like saying the U.S. has 56 different Native tribes in order to create the illusion that there are a lot of Native Americans in America.
