no affirmative action at the UCs - URM won’t help

that’s what they say officially, there’s plenty of ways being an URM helps, write a damn good essay, they’lll still give you points for socioeconomic factors and etc.

are my chances good?

by “East Indian” do you mean Native American, because Indian from India isn’t exactly a URM at UCLA (OR any other college for that matter)

NDN:

UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)

what are some things I can improve since i’m going to be a senior next yr.

NDN,

UCLA: slight reach (out-of-state)

your credentials are strong enough for you to be a “match” if you were in-state. i’d recommend you to apply. there’s not much you can improve on now (UC’s dont take senior year GPA into admissions consideration), but you can retake SAT if you want (totally optional, your score is good already), but i highly suggest you write some good personal statements. those can be the difference on admissions.
