MomOfAPrincess - my D and I have the traveling behind us (she did her auditions in the fall), and we highly recommend “the carry on everything” formula, we are from CA and never checked in anything until the flight back home; even then D carried her audition binder and dance shoes (whatever was not that critical and could be replaced). “My” ziplock turned into D’s second one and we had “travel size” for toothpaste, hairspray, body splash, lotion etc.

I did “splurge” and got myself a big black canvas tote with a zipper instead of a cute handbag, to schlep lots of stuff around in during the day of the audition. Be aware that most airlines enforce the max. 2 bags hand-carry per person rule, and yes, your handbag counts as one piece. D always had her backpack/dance bag and her rollerboard. Also, another heads up, DO NOT carry on a nice large bottle of perfume/eau de toilette unless it fits in the ever getting more famous little baggy or you don’t mind checking your luggage.

I am actually a bit sad that we are done, albeit it for good reason. Enjoy the bonding with your D’s/S’s on your travels, I will be rooting for all of you :)!!!
