Hi, my paper was published in the Concord Review, and I won their Emerson award as well. I was just wondering how prestigious this achievement is. Can it be considered the History equivalent of an Intel or Siemens award in the sciences? Do colleges view this as a strong achievement, and will it help my chances at any top colleges? If so, are there any schools that really like students who have achieved this?

Thank You so Much guys, I would really appreciate any responses! :)

Congratulations. I hadn’t heard of it but it looks like a very fine accomplishment and the Emerson Prize a very selective award. As for your question, this is from their website:

Many of our authors have sent reprints of their papers with their college application materials, and they have gone on to Brown (25), Chicago (20), Columbia (21), Cornell (15), Dartmouth (20), Harvard (116), Oxford (13), Pennsylvania (23), Princeton (60), Stanford (38), Yale (97), and a number of other fine institutions, including Amherst, Berkeley, Bryn Mawr, Caltech, Cambridge, Chicago, McGill, Middlebury, MIT, Reed, Smith, Trinity, Tufts, Virginia, Wellesley, Wesleyan, and Williams.
