Below a 3.5 GPA that got accepted into UC thread?

I know this 1 girl that got a 3.3 gpa with a 550 in math 550 in english…she got into UC Santa Cruz…

and your point is…

that’s probably average for santa cruz

lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

this is a thread for those who got into a UC under a 3.5 gpa … hey not everyone is a book worm… some got in because they play sports well or had high sats but were lazy

and ur point is…

lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

what’s so funny?

i think he’s trying to say something about UC Santa Cruz

I suggest using the report post option, I never get why there are some kids on this forum who have nothing better to do but to spam.

Anyway, I got into UCSB as a freshman with a 3.2 unweighted and a 1260, I think because of my essay (I didn’t have any spectacular ECs).

I got into SD, Irvine, and Davis with a 3.33 UW with 1360(old)/740(2c)/720(W)/650(USH) with the major of Computer Science.

Weighted, i believe i had a 3.8 GPA. Not sure though.

Rejected from Cal and LA.

My essay wasn’t special. Half white, half korean student that started a couple clubs, is a black belt in taekwondo, did some programming stuff over the summer(s), and comes from a mediocre (if that) CA public school.

UC Santa Cruz is much better than the reputation would lead you to believe. How do I know? I am a student there, and I chose it over other UCs. I had about 3.2 GPA and 1380/680/680/660 test scores, plus tons of ECs/community service/leadership/etc.

Santa Cruz is a great school.

Most of my friends that attended Santa Cruz, had options between UCI, Davis, etc… but chose the school because they loved the campus, etc. It’s like a “Brown” for the UC system.

Except Brown is good.

And UCSC is supposed to be quite good, too, better than many states’ flagship public schools. UCSC is fine, sure, for certain people and subjects of study. The same is so for Brown- some people would hate it.

I would rather go to UCSB, where I have already been accepted.

Ya I already got accepted to UCSB.

Ok my mistake I did some research:
“For fall 2006, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara will guarantee admission to ELC students provided applicants satisfactorily complete their remaining high school requirements.”
