The first link mentions one potential problem- cost. $10 a day possibly. Yikes. One reason to use older less costly drugs when possible. Physician here. btw, when Crestor became available as a generic the price jumped- generic versions became more expensive than the brand name drug was months before. With insurance.

After September’s numbers I’ll be able to offer another data point as to whether ginger helped or not. A few peers who tried it first have had good significant results. Med school lad said it was mentioned as a potential good option (pending more trials) by one of his doctor/profs. If it works, it’s definitely significantly cheaper than the new drug. I’m adding it on my own after statins seemed to cause a big brain fog for me when I tried them. I’ll give statins another try if ginger doesn’t show significant help, but I figured 6 months of a personal trial was worth undertaking to avoid brain fog issues.

If the brain fog returns, I’ll take my chances with high cholesterol. I prefer being able to think and remember what I can. I’m just not positive it was due to the statins with just a couple of weeks trying it out TBH.
