Bending the SAT in your favor with pencils

Buy 4 #2 pencils to use on the test (that are not mechanical).

When filling in the beginning information, bubble the various fill-ins with your first pencil.

When writing the essay, switch to the second pencil.

When beginning your first section, use the pencil you used in the beginning to maximize the surface area of the mark created (decreasing time as someone mentioned from before).

When you get to the third section, switch pencils to the essay written one to continue bubbling quickly.

When introduced to math section, switch to the third pencil and continue to use it because scratch work increases the surface area of the new pencil.

Use the final pencil for any special needs (your pencil breaks on you).

Key: Surface area of pencil tip= faster bubbling and less downtime on seconds you can answer with a few more problems.
I hope this makes sense.

yes lol my dad told me bout the pencil thing. every millisecond counts

Yup! This is exactly the same procedure I use (albeit with only 2, not 4). I’ve been trying to teach others this trick as well.

haha, thanks
very detailed…

but I will just use the mechanic penicl for the essay .

that’s a great idea. thanks!!

i hate mechanical pencils. the leads break too easily.

I don’t know…a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil seems to have plenty of surface area to fill in the bubbles.

Mechanical pencils all the way for me…Sorry!

I tried filling in the circles with a pointed 2B , blunt 2b ( from the tip) and a mechanical , and the blunt one was the fastest. Good tips. 12 hours left…

a blunt HB # 2 pencil is the best way to go. (more shading in less time)

never thought of this before

haha…some of the stuff you see on this site over the SATs

wow, I never ever would of thought of that.

you crazy kids :]

No, you three sharpen the pencils, then throw them at the proctors with your uber ninja skills. Then, stun the proctors with spore, which is the result of two clapped chalk erasers.

I always bring 6 pencils and never share them.

Talk about psychotic.
That’s a cool idea though.

you guys might as well make up strategies on how to fill the bubbles…

lol

Why not mechanical?

Darth, everyone knows that you fill in bubbles starting from the left side and proceeding clockwise in a circle.

great post  … anything that could POSSIBLY help is worth reading

Are you serious…?

Well, this is rich. :D
