Of course it would. It won’t make or break your application, but you’re still better off having taken the course.

hi alicantekid…thanks for replying…would you also noe of the more reputable summer schools?

i plan to apply to LSE for sure, but i dont exactly have a list right now…this is for next summer btw , lol

work experience post-undergrad is going to help more than any summer program.

Summer school is summer school. Regardless of if you take it at a community college or at an Ivy League School, I don’t think it’ll make a huge difference. You’re probably better off taking it at a local school because it’ll be cheaper. It’s not worth moving to Cambridge and shelling out thousands of dollars to take a couple classes at Harvard when it’s usually not even the tenured faculty taking the courses.

“work experience post-undergrad is going to help more than any summer program.”

yes thats very true i suppose but as alicantekid said that it prolly will look good on one’s app…

@alicantekid-ok so ur point is that as long as it is a a good overall uni its ok…

thanks again

Well, it can’t hurt, presuming you perform decently. If you get a bad grade, then it will probably hurt.

But I do agree with dcfca that it would probably be more useful for you to have a productive summer internship, preferably one that will lead you to a strong full-time job after graduation. For example, I certainly wouldn’t turn down an investment banking or a consulting summer internship for summer school.

But if the best summer job you can get is working at the mall, or stocking shelves at Walmart, and you don’t need the money, then I agree that summer school may be better for you.

thanks for your replies everyone…

You only need to take that summer class if you dont have a strong undergraduate G.P.A . Otherwise, it is not a wise choice to spend extra thousands of dollars. It is better to spend the money on something else. But if you dont have strong g.p.a, doing well in a course in London School of Economics would help you tremendously. Good luck!
