Berkeley/ CAL or UCSB hopeful transfer

I played Division 1 field hockey at University of the Pacific. Long story short Stockton wasnt for me. I decided after a year and a half to transfer… I applied to CAL and SB… I got denied to CAL out of high school and accepted to Santa Barbara out of high school. Playing Hockey at UOP was more than a full time job so my GPA suffered. I have around a 3.4. Im applying under Pre- Poli Sci. Ive taken the following pre reqs: Macro- B, Micro- A, World History- B, American Gov- A. Im in progress of the following pre-reqs: International Relations (looking at a B) and Comparative Politics (looking at an A).

Other details:
I took AP Spanish in high school got a 5.
English Lit AP - 4

VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE FOLLOWING TWO THINGS:

  1. I got a D in Biology while attending UOP… its a pharmacy school so the bio classes are beyond ridiculous… and I couldnt balance it while playing a sport for the school and traveling out of state. (this is what brought my GPA from like a 3.7 to a 3.4)
  2. The English courses that i took while attending UOP are called PACS1: B and PACS 2 :A… Im worried about their transferability. They did not transfer to state schools.

Essay #1 is about being a Syrian female and having family in Damscus that have gotten their houses bombed and members that are fleeing to Turkey and Lebanon. I tied it into how these issues have made me want to enter the field of poli sci and foreign relations… etc.

Essay #2 was about being a lifeguard for 4 years, and what having to save people and perform CPR on people has done on my alertness and decision making skills. etc

Just want to know honest thoughts about the possibility of me getting in to either of these schools…
I know I will find out in the following weeks, but I’m losing my mind here lol

THANKS!
