“Many houses have a squatters’ rights policy. This means that once you bid into a room for the Fall or Spring semester, you can keep that room indefinitely, (until you move out of your house or choose to move to another room). Check your house’s by-laws for your house’s rules pertaining to squatters’ rights.”

Does “moving out of the house” for the summer and returning for the Spring/Fall semester void your squatter’s rights?

“The only places where you are guaranteed a single room are in the two graduate/re-entry student houses (Convent and Hillegass/Parker) and the Rochdale/Fenwick apartments. You should be aware that new members are rarely assigned to the apartments in their first semester, although getting a space in the Rochdale or Fenwick apartments after one semster is highly probable.”

Can someone confirm that one semester members actually have a good chance of getting singles? I am only interested in singles so having a triple/quad is going to be immensely troublesome for me, and I am not sure if I can endure having one for 3 to 4 semesters.
