I applied to Berkeley this year as an English major. I wrote on my application that I’d be taking Physics (which was my last class to finish the IGETC) this Spring but I couldn’t get the class. I haven’t reported that I’m not taking Physics yet.

I know you have to complete the IGETC to get into Berkeley, so would I be automatically rejected if I tell them that I didn’t take Physics? Recently, however, I decided to change my major and stay at my community college for another year. So, even if I got into Berkeley, I wouldn’t attend. Is it okay if I never update my application just to see if I could get in this year?

I couldn’t get into ANY class. You have no idea how many classes I tried to add. There were 60+ on the waiting list for EVERY class I tried to get into. I even went to 3 other community colleges but the teachers weren’t allowing students to add, especially those from other schools. It was ridiculous!

ok u probably won’t, but why don’t you pull ur application? That way someone who wants to go to berk this year, might get in, in place of you (assuming u are to get in)

I get why your’e curious to see if you get in, but if you do get in don’t wait around to tell them you won’t attend. ALOT of people would die to take ur place (if you get accepted) so whatever you do, think of that!

i had to go to 3 cc’s last semester because i couldn’t get a calculus class and a chemistry class at the cc closest to me. you should pull your application, if that is possible, so that someone else can get in

UCLA is aware of the education crisis we are currently facing. Notify them after you have secured a spot in a Physics class for summer school. There is a high likelihood they will accept this.
