Berkeley MCB or NIH OxCam

I am having trouble deciding between these two programs. Hoping the forums might have an opinion.

I have already identified a mentor at Cambridge who studies platinum resistance in ovarian cancer. I am very interested in the work but this program doesn’t offer classes and seems a little disorganized; you essentially are on your own for 4 years. In addition, it would be cool to live in Cambridge but spending two years in England and then two in DC might be too nomadic for me.

Berkeley MCB is very basic science based. I plan to go into translational research (drug discovery) in the future but think it might offer me an advantage to study cell biology-structural biology while I have the chance. Also, I really liked SF when I visited and I have some friends that are studying at Berkeley already. Berkeley would offer a much more traditional grad school experience.

Anyone got anything for me?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention. Also considering UCSF BMS but I think that if am going to study more clinical science I would go to NIH/Cambridge.
