<p>The fact of the matter is that Cal should be ranked way higher than it is. It’s acceptance rate (although not a predictor of prestige) is lower than the four or five schools ranked above it and its social-mobilizing and student-happiness qualities are far superior than many of those ranked higher.</p>
<p>Hm, my feeling is rankings are kind of silly, but unfortunately many do look at them. I think the real useful thing is looking at the individual strengths and weaknesses of a school and seeing how they fit one’s own needs…</p>
