Berkeley to SC

Im going into Berkeley as a freshmen for Fall 2007 and want to transfer to SC in hopes of getting in for Fall or Spring 2008/2009. Since both schools are on the semester system I think that by taking both English and Math both semesters I will be alright on filling up the core requirements and I did research at USC Children’s Hospital for a year as well and could probably get a Rec Letter from there. They say they look at high school and I did decent with 1960 SAT and around a 4.0 cum.

Does anyone know if people have done this before and what the chances are for transferring with a relatively high GPA like 3.8?

just curious; did you get rejected from usc yet made it to berkeley?

No I didn’t fully apply to SC and am going to this fall, but I wanna know if its feesable and what I should do.

it might be alot harder for you to transfer for two reasons

 1. you are already at a good school, and you have less of a “need” to transfer
 2. you want to transfer sophomore year…

but anything is possible. you really should call the school to ask them, they are always really friendly and helpful.

I know a few people who were admitted to USC from UC’s as sophomores with similiar college gpa’s. You have as good a chance as anyone else. It is to your credit that were able to earn a 3.8 at Cal as it can be very challenging academically and I am sure the USC admissions people will notice. Good Luck.
