Berkeley

I know a lot of political sciences school are on the East Coast, but since I’m from Hawai’i I want to stay as close to home. I got interested in UC Berkeley and I want to know what my chances are like. Here are my stats:

SAT:1300 (660 for Math; 640 for Reading; 20 for Essay)
GPA: 4.0 UW and 4.120 W
Ranked 1 out of 47 (Come from a small town in Hawaii; about 200 students in high school)
Jobs: Former ranger at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park (summer job)
Internship with the Honolulu office of Senator Brian Schatz
Sports: Varsity soccer, track and cross country
Student Body: Sophomore treasurer, junior sec, Hawaii State Student Council rep currently
Clubs: Youth and Government (vp now, senate clerk last year) HOSA
I am also a part of Upward Bound if that helps
National Honor Society (vice president, sec last year)
Community Service: The Collective (plans community events) 2hrs/week

Male
Rural high school student (90% students qualify for free/reduced lunch)
Full filipino
Immigrant/first generation American
Only one parent got a degree in the Philippines

I think I have a lot of extracurriculars but my SAT lowers my chances. My other reaches are Georgetown, UVA and UNC.

Calculate your UC GPA and post capped weighted and fully weighted.

Make sure you can pay $60K/year to attend since OOS students get little to no financial aid.

SAT a bit low for UCB, think 1400 or higher.

Try to get your SAT score up and you’ll have lots of opportunities.
