I was surprised how many Germans spoke conversational English, at least where we were.
We didn’t make it as far north as Berlin (stayed in Bavaria) but I would love to go back.
Around here, the artsy creative kids are interested in Berlin; and the outdoorsy, sporty kids are interested in Australia and New Zealand. Not a lot of surfing in Berlin!
And the artsy surfers go to Morocco. (Sample size of one on that last one!)

That would make sense. Lots of mountain outdoorsy people where I live (California).
Iceland has also been climbing the “hip” rankings here too…
