<p>i’ve known many non-korean people who learned to read korean (without knowing what it means). that’s because the korean language has alphabet letters, and most of it isn’t based on character-form like Chinese or parts of Japanese</p>

<p>asian sensation, I agree with your assessment on Korean as an easy language to read. I, too, can read Korean, despite not knowing what it means. However, I cannot read texts that consist of both hangeul and hanja! Nevertheless, the alphabet can be learned in 30 minutes or even less.</p>
