Best book on adjusting for entering freshman

I’m throwing a party for my D and her 7 bffs and will be getting them each a variety of small gifts. I’d like one of the gifts to be a book about adjusting to college or making the transition. All are going far from home and all are attending different schools. What’s the best book you’ve come across? It can either be serious or humorous but it needs to be in paperback to keep it affordable.

How about OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO by Dr. Seuss?

I haven’t read it myself, but have heard good reviews of The Naked Roommate. If you pick out something too serious, it’s unlikely it’ll be read, but I believe that book mixes humor and good advice. Ten dollars on Amazon, plus you can read some pages through Amazon’s “look inside” function.

DS and bff both started digging into The Naked Roommate right at the dinner table, when we gave them as gifts. I saw it on DS’ night table somewhat later.

Can’t say he read it cover to cover, but at least it was a winner at the beginning. Addresses the college transition in the way kids are worrying about it… that’s the grab (plus the title and front cover art ).

I’m also a fan of Oh! the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. Gave it to DS for, as I recall, hs graduation. Don’t think he went for it in the same way. Maybe some day.

We have Oh! the Places You’ll Go and I really was thinking something more along the lines of The Naked Roommate (comical tips, etc.) so I’ll go check that out. Thanks.
