Best brand of mascara

I’m a silly pink and green Maybelline wearer.

I, too, use the silly pink and green maybelline. I’ve tried more expensive brands but why pay more when this works just as well?

Like many posters, I’ve gone back and forth between pink & green Maybelline and the more expensive (sometimes MUCH more expensive) brands from dept stores or Sephora, only to find that pink & green Maybelline is really the best for everyday wear.

However, I recently tried Maybelline’s new Stiletto mascara - which seems to be an upscale variation on the pink & green standby - - and I really LOVE it! Stiletto makes my lashes look long, full and natural with no clumps, but just a bit ‘dressier’ than the pink & green mascara would make them.

So my vote goes to Maybelline pink & green for everyday wear and Maybelline Stiletto for special events …

Here’s another tip for those of you who use the old-fashioned lash curler: I heat my lash curler for a few seconds using my hair dryer on a low setting, before applying to my lashes. Gives those curls some extra staying power and makes my “BrownEyes” look gigantic … just be careful not to overheat the lash curler!

BrownEyes :)

I bought Almay one coat nourishing recently and love it. No smearing under my eyes. Yeah!

Maybelline or Cover Girl for me…I just get whatever is on sale at the local stores…and I look for coupons in the sunday paper too. I’m not picky and I get a new tube about once every 6 weeks.

^^^Do you use so much that you need a new tube, or do you just chuck the old one because you’re concerned about contaminants??

I chuck the old stuff because it gets yucky and I just don’t keep mascara that long. That’s one reason I go CHEAP. And I do use it everyday.

Huh. I use it every day but it lasts several months. Maybe I’m not doing it right!!

Love Maybelline Lash Stiletto. It does not clump!!! Finally a good mascara.

I think Penelope Cruz is the spokesmodel in the advertisement for this mascara.

I have very fair coloring red gold hair Inc on lashes and brows. My lashes are still long and thick comparatively but you couldn’t see them.
I like true brown maybelline mascara. What I used to like were cake mascaras but not black or black brown, which is much too dark.
I also like l’oreal which carries a few browns, but I don’t really wear it enough anymore and they get dried up quickly

Wow, the things I learn here.
Dumping my fancier mascera and quitting my old habit of trying to get 4 months out of a tube… just buy the cheap stuff twice as often!

My daughter and I both switched this year to Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Eye Brightening Mascara; I also have used the good old pink and green Maybelline over time.

Earlier this year I decided I was spending way too much money on make up and not really thinking I looked terrific in what I was wearing. I have slowly switched my moisturizer and other basics with drug store brands instead of department store brands. I really do believe the new products work just as well and my wallet is very happy!! The Oil of Olay moisturizer is available at Costco for about a quarter the price I paid for the Lancome. The only non drug store item I am still using is my foundation; I haven’t found another one I like as well.
