I am a senior in high school and am looking to go into business. I’ve been accepted into u of illinois, Miami-Ohio, Michigan state, and Penn state. I am going to major in finance. What are the differences between these schools in terms of business school ranking and how would they affect me receiving future job offers?
The first factor that will affect your life post-college is how debt each school would require you and your parents to get into.
Can you indicate how much in loans you/your parents would be for each university?
The second factor is what YOU are willing and able to do. The business school ranking will not have a huge effect, what will matter most is how well you do, whether you take sufficient quantitative classes (stats are a must), your internships (get acquainted with the career center right away and if you do an overnight, go visit it), etc.
I will have little to no student loans. I have worked during the summers for two years, coming up on my fourth and my parents do very well at their jobs.
Sorry coming up on my third year working in the summer.
In this case, I’d go with either Miami OH or Penn State. Both are rather equivalent academically and have good location for summer internships (lots of big cities are within a 6 hour radius).
