We charge a fair amount (a lot of travel for work) but almost always pay off the entire balance each month. Does anyone have a cash-back card that they would recommend?

Costco Amex: 3% cash back on dining out and Costco gas, 2% on travel, 1% on everything else. Works great for us.

We use Chase VISA with 1% cash back on anything; sometimes 3% for limited time on anything. (sent notifications, like for 3 moths on periodical basis.)

I also have the costco amex but mine is a business card or some different version. I get 2% on everything. The card annual fee is included in my costco membership fee.
Lots of people think the rebate check has to be spent at costco. It does not. You can walk into Costco and cash that rebate check without buying anything :)

I also have the Costco AmEx and look forward to them paying me >$500 cash per year to use their card. I also have a Discover which isn’t as good but is accepted at some places an AmEx isn’t.

American Express Blue Cash card. 5% back on gas, grocery and drug stores, and 1-1/2% back on everything else. These rates kick in once you have charged $6500 on your card. If you charge a lot like we do, including private school tuition, this card is great. No annual fee either.

[American Express Blue Cash Credit Card – No Annual Fee and Cash Back Credit Card](http://www201.americanexpress.com/getthecard/learn-about/BlueCash)

My Discover card is 1% back on everything I purchase. If I was more deliberate in my usage, I think that could be higher on occasion for specific things. I use it for almost everything and pay it off monthly. At the end of the year I use the rebate to pay off the current bill. Not as fun as other things, but practical and a no extra steps involved.

We did use some Am Ex points I accumulated over a 5 years to purchase a nice Christmas gift for someone recently. That was fun.

Cincy gal–I’ll have to look into changing to the blue American Express. I pay a fee for mine.

Not Cash back, but I use my Marriott Rewards card for everything - including DD’s tuition. I’ve gotten some great free hotel rooms in NYC, Chicago, and London.

Sam’s Discovercard; 2% cash back on everything. It’s $65 more than the regular Sam’s membership but we make that back 20 times over.
