I’ve already been searching a lot, but I wanted another perspective.
I’m currently finishing my junior year. I have a 34 composite ACT score and a 4.0 (unweighted) GPA. However, I am NOT a National Merit finalist or semifinalist.
I am trying to find a college that has an at least somewhat reputable honors program, but that I would have a good chance to getting (at least) full tuition to. Also, preferably in a warm place if that’s possible.
IDK if it is relevant or not, but as far as perspective majors, probably sports management.
Some schools frequently recommended for merit are the Alabama schools (UA, UAH, UAB).
What do you want to study?
@txstella Sports management. Maybe a double major with statistics.
What is your in state flagship?
Arizona State might be a fit, you can look up your merit scholarship on line with Arizona State.
Here is their sports management program.

@Coloradomama LSU. And thank you for the input.
This list should be helpful. You can also google the same for competitive opportunities.

As with any lists, each school should be checked out for updates. Schools have dropped from the list; perhaps some added.
@Lindagaf @cptofthehouse Thank you both very much. I’ll be sure to check that list out.
University of South Carolina has the best honors program in the nation. It’s very warm and excellent school. Look into that
If your own state flagship doesn’t work, then the University of Alabama may meet your needs. Warm climate, strong sports culture, big automatic merit scholarships (in past years, anyway).
The University of South Carolina has a “B.S. in Sport and Entertainment Management” program, as well as merit scholarships for OOS students.

University of New Mexico has some very good scholarships. With your stats, you’d qualify for some hefty ones. Also check out Utah.
If you qualify for financial aid, Rice has a spirts management program and it’s new FA initiative raises the ceiling for Fin aid. It would be a high reach school for anyone, but it’s worth the ED Card, IMO. Also check out UT-Dallas. Impressive, from what I’ve seen and it’s has some good merit money.
What is your budget? Have you spoken with your parents? Make sure you deal with getting that sure thing school in the bag before going for the lottery ticket schools
I wonder if Rice students can do a sports and spirits double major.
Pre sports bar management, with internships?
Yes, excellent sports management internships All Rice students seem to be doing a spirit major . Lots of school spirit there.

But Any Major At Rice is a high reach. It’s getting in that is the issue.
Many of the athletes at Rice major in sports management and/or kinesiology, but those majors are open to all students.
Since you are from a southeastern state, you should check out the Southeastern Tuition Exchange to see if you qualify for in-state tuition as an out-of-state student at other southeastern universities. We know a student from GA who was able to get in-state tuition at USouthCar as a sports management major through this exchange.
