Hey guys, I’ve been posting a lot here recently, but mainly under the chance me forums. However, I’d like to broaden my search a little bit and see what other colleges you guys think I should be looking at. Here is my resume -

Look through the NESCAC schools and Colgate, Boston College and Holy Cross to see if your swim times are recruitable.

Each school has an athletics sub-website with times of current team members.

Your demographic and location along with your outstanding academic profile make you a good admit for smaller Eastern schools.

Your ACT is a bit better than SAT.

How do things look financially?

Financially, my parents can afford up to $35,000

The schools I mentioned are very good with financial aid. You might get a much better deal than $35k depending on your family income.

You should also consider some schools where merit awards are possible.

Are you automatically in UT?

Do you have a preference for size?

What are your preferences on school size and geographic location? Urban, rural, suburban? Political leaning?

unfortunately i am not in auto admittance, and i’d prefer a urban or suburban school

“The 25 Most Desirable Suburban Schools” and “The 25 Most Desirable Urban Schools,” Newsweek (online articles).

Keep an in-state school like TAMU in the mix.

Does TAMU have a good philosophy department? I read on several sites that the law school that you enter is influence greatly by the school that you did you undergrad in. Is this true? I have the LSAT score to get into a top 20 law school.

Loyola Chicago, Fordham The schools of Colleges that Change Lives have lots of good philosophy depts. http://ctcl.org/

No it’s not. GPA and LSAT.

How is that possible when you’re in HS?

@“Erin’s Dad” well what I meant to put is, I took the LSAT from 2011 unofficially, and scored a 164, I have not taken an official LSAT. My apologies for not being clear. I realize that this doesn’t help me, but I think that it is a good sign, and that maybe I’ll be able to score higher once in college

Many of the Catholic colleges have excellent philosophy departments - check out Notre Dame and Georgetown (though your ACT may be a point or 2 low) and 2nding Onthbubble picks of Boston College and Holy Cross.
Santa Clara and U of Scranton could also be good

How is the price on those private colleges? I can only afford $35,000
