I am not good enough for Columbia, NYU is too expensive and I don’t know any other good colleges in the area. I know there is Stony Brook and my counselor says I am very competitive for it. But I want to move in with my uncle who is in NYC and that saves all the room and board money.
Can someone recommend anything?

I agree with CCNY - Grove School of Engineering. They also have a Computer Engineering major available. Tuition for instate students is around $6,500/year! CUNY - Hunter might be an option also. You should visit these schools to get a feel for school/curriculum/environment.
