Do you seek large or small, urban, suburban, or rural? Big time sports, etc?
Define East Coast - Northeast, mid atlantic, southe east or all?
What are is the student’s GPA, test score (SAT, ACT), highest levellof math? What sciences were taken?
And yes, what state are you from?
Best - is the school you can afford and that your student will love to attend. It’s not a pre-determined ranked name.
But there are full price schools, like W Carolina and the three other NC Promise schools that will crush the budget and schools like Salisbury (currently $37k for tuition, room and board but with easy to obtain merit to get beneath). So not to worry - there are good schools out there, even out of state.
Also, do you qualify for need ? Have you filled out any net price calculators? Some east coast schools meet demonstrated need.
