Best Colleges With Computer Related Majors in Southern Cali?

I live in southern California and i’d like to stay here in southern California so i don’t get too homesick. I want to major in Computer Engineering but i’m not too sure yet since CIS/ICS seems somewhat of interest to me. Also thinkin about Civil Engineering too.

anyways so far, I have 5 colleges in mind.
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
UCR
Cal Poly Pomona

I really doubt i’ll get into UCLA, UCSD or UCI with my stats.

horrible i know. I really want to get into at LEAST UCI, but i know that i have to face reality and realize my chances are very low.

The last 2 I have left are UCR and Cal Poly Pomona, that are within reach. I’m not sure which one to pick if i get accepted into both.

Okay now for my question, lol. Are there any other universities i should apply to? thanks!

I think the average GPA and SAT of UCI is 3.8 and 1800, respectively. Keep in mind that the UCs only look at tenth and eleventh grade grades. I think you have a good shot at UCR as long as you finish the a-g requirement and have at least a 3.0. I’m not too sure about Cal Poly Pomona, but you should consider applying to Cal Poly SLO (a great engineering school).

Good luck!!

don’t UCs look at the 1st semester of 12th grade also?

You might want to apply to Cal Poly SLO. Unlikely you can get in, but I’ve heard stranger things.

bombatwist: UCs ONLY look at 10-11th year grades

well… looks like im screwed for UCLA, UCSD and UCI for sure x.x
