Best Combo of Social and Academic School

I am seeking to transfer from NYU to a more normal college experience school. I am currently a computer engineering major with a 3.7 in my first semester.

I want to find a school that is social and fun while at the same time has a good reputation as a school. What do you guys suggest to look at?

University of Wisconsin, University of Michigan in the midwest – but I don’t know what the requirements for direct admit into engineering for a transfer might be.
