Best Dates to test

which are the best dates/months to test on for each of the following: SAT, SAT IIs, ACT.
which curve is the best to our advantage?? which is the worst?

The best date to test is when you are thorougly prepared. All tests are scaled, so each one is equivalent to another.

We can’t answer that question, we don’t work for the college board, we don’t work on test development, we don’t have access to the test, and we can’t tell you which test is easier than another. No offense, but use some common sense when asking a question. Bluebayou put it the best way possible.

Both of the above posters are right!!! Just take them when you’re ready, and schedule enough time to prep.

The curves are determined after everyone takes the test…how would we be able to predict it? I think you are grasping at straws for some secret advantage. There is none…

No, they are not, bcos there are no “curves”. Collegeboard uses the experimental section of the SAT to test hardness of the questions, and scale them appropriately.

Yes it is technically right that all test dates are equivalent but keep in mind
the percentile is not something the adcoms focus on but on the scaled
score.

Based on what i have seen in the last 3 years- october dates for SAT I
lead to consistently higher scores than other dates from an individual
perspective. March is a particualrly bad time to take it.

December for SAT IIs such as IIC, bio, phy and chem seem to work better
than june. May seems best for USH.

@MIT 012: really? i took the sat ii world hist test in june and it seemed really easy (they only offer it twice i think tho…

@bluebayou:well they don’t do that for the sat iis right?
