Costco has a “Members Wallet” coupon for TurboTax Deluxe net cost Fed 16.99 or Fed/State 21.99, but the coupon is not effective until Jan 15. I’d like to get the tax return started before then, so I can get the FAFSA done.

This price is far better than anything else I’ve found. Does anyone know of a better deal?

TaxAct ~$28 Deluxe (help and Lasser’s) F/S, ~$20 Standard. ~$more for professional version. First Fed filing is free. State is ~$7.99 (?). Package Fed & State Deluxe version is ~$22.00. Preliminary programs have been around since October and final updated version coming out soon. Program will update itself without charge and will place already inputed data into the correct places.

Online form is free but if you want to file online then it costs a few bucks. Online downloadable program costs a few bucks less than TT and others. CD costs $5 more than downloanable program. Additional $5 for CD with your particular state. All states are on a single CD and each state that you want is charged.

I’ve done most of our taxes since early Dec and have been updating since then with various tax stategies and security trades.
