Hi! HSSR admitted to DePaul here wondering what the best housing options are in Lincoln Park.
If anyone could answer that’d be great, thanks!
Do you mean as far as dorms go? Or living off campus? My D22 is in a suite in one of the dorms. She shares her bedroom with one girl and then they share their bathroom with another girl who is in a single room. All three get along well. By sheer luck my daughter chose a room sight unseen that is large, with a walk-in closet and a view of the skyline.
I don’t think any dorm is better or worse necessarily. Only a couple are traditional style with common bathrooms shared by the whole floor. Most are suite-style. Corcoran doesn’t have air conditioning. Otherwise they seem similar.
DePaul is a compact campus so your dorm will never be too far from your classes.
So it’s not only freshmen in the dorms? That is what wasn’t clear to me-if students were able to easily get on campus housing after the first year.
I am not sure if/where upper classman can live in the dorms? I definitely get the feel it is primarily freshman in the traditional style dorms. There is some apartment style housing available on campus and more upper classmen live in those I suspect. My freshman is considering that as an option for next year. She is in one of the LP suite style dorms this year and it is super nice. She LOVES it!
It is mostly freshman in the dorms but there are apartment style dorms (as @KaylaMidwest said) where you will find more upperclassmen. But mostly kids move off campus into the surrounding neighborhood or a little distance out.
