Best domain and email host services

Looking for recommendations for buying a domain and hosting email.

I think I am going with Squarespace to build the website.

My initial number crunching makes it look like GoDaddy and Google G Suite sure approximately the same cost for domain and email hosting. We need probably just 2 email address (and the ability to create alias’s is good, I know Gmail is free for that)

I like the Google suite of services but i worry that I am overpaying for that user-friendliness.

My webmaster suggested godaddy, so that’s hat our website uses. I didn’t shop around.

I use GoDaddy for the domains and use Weebly for creating my websites.

I have Interenet Planners and Nearly Free Speech. Website was done I forget which registers the name and which is host.

It really depends on what your needs are. What is the site going to be used for? Expected traffic? Security needs?

I use NameCheap for domains and Hostgator for hosting. Hostgator definitely isn’t the friendliest for the non-technical people out there. I also have some domains at GoDaddy but I prefer NameCheap as its cheaper for renewals, there are no upsells during the checkout process and the interface is much better than GoDaddy.

Siteground is another hosting/domain site to consider, although they are a bit more expensive.

WIX is also another platform that will host and register your domain, it is easy to use and easy to set up a site on WIX. They often have sales and coupons - there is one today on RetailMeNot for 50% off the annual fee…

But, as others have said, it really depends on your purpose in setting up a site. Domain registration fees are usually the smallest expense of a website.

Thanks for all this info. This will be a website for a small retail store. No online commerce yet. I am currently looking at building the website with Squarespace and that comes with a free year of G Suite, so I can get the business email addresses etc from the G Suite. Plus Sq comes with one domain name.

I think the Google product is very turn-key and intuitive - but I was worried I was paying too much for that convenience. I don’t think I want to use WordPRess with GoDaddy because I just am not finding WP easy enough to use for me (I am sure it is me!). Wix and Weebly are very easy to use but I think Squarespace has templates that are a little more polished looked for this use.
