^^ He’s the sort of student I was referring to before.

Amen, arbiter. I think blazin hazin needs to transfer, since in his other posts he’s so miserable with NU and is itching for the East Coast.

I’m sorry, did blazin hazin really just imply that one cannot enjoy NU unless they live in Bobb?

I don’t know why I bothered to reply. His comments didn’t even warrant a response, but I digress…

How disgustingly pigheaded and narrow-minded to imply that I can’t enjoy my undergrad experience at NU this fall if I don’t stay in Bobb or Elder. Perhaps I like a quieter environment. Ever consider the fact that I might prefer a more arts-centric dorm? Or the fact that Res College firesides sound very interesting? Or the fact that I don’t like partying, even though I’m hardly antisocial?

instead of following through with arbiter’s tangent about how awful it is to look forward to partying hard in college, i chose to address the OP’s question about what dorm’s are the most fun to live in, and indeed Bobb/Elder are the only “party dorms” on campus. and i said Allison is decent for south campus. these three are easily the most highly desired dorms on campus. im sorry if the rest of you inferred something else. the fact is, if youre not living in Bobb or Elder and you want to get drunk and have a good time, chances are you will be visiting those dorms frequently. for the rest of you guys who are more interested in your textbooks than getting drunk… well, i dont know why youre on this thread in the first place.

Oh. You’re one of those who can’t have a good time without getting drunk. That explains a lot.
Bobb’s a pit and an embarrassment to Northwestern in terms of how poorly it’s kept up, IMO. Why they don’t take some money and overhaul it is beyond me.

For the record, I’m in a fraternity and I drink. I looked forward to that when I came to college (the drinking, didn’t foresee the Fraternity). I’m just not such a block-headed infant as to have that as a primary focus. I do see something wrong with that.

the maintenance budget for bobb is the largest on campus, the social/improvements budget is the lowest. in other words, they spend too much money cleaning up after our mess and fixing things than spending money on making it nicer. bobb residents are quite proud of this fact. but this year we didnt break as much stuff as usual, so they bought us new tv’s in every lounge.

for incoming freshman (although housing choices is probably over): if you want a nice clean dorm, live in slivka. if you want to “party your ass off” like the OP wants, then live in bobb or elder. simple as that.

im not in a fraternity, and i drink moderately on the weekends. lets not have a pis*ing contest as to whose priorities are straight and whose are not. if an incoming freshman is excited to start school and get wasted every night of new student week, then more power to him. these are our only years of minimal responsibility before we start our careers and settle down with a family, its understandable if one wants to have as much fun as possible.

easy on the name calling. its real easy to talk smack on forums, but how about actually answering the OP’s question instead of imposing your personal viewpoints on everyone.

I’m not imposing my viewpoints, I’m voicing them. I’m sure you know the difference.

Sure, it’s a person’s prerogative if he wants to get messed up every night of New Student Week and afterwards, no kidding, but I’ve gotta say, if the main reason someone wants to come to college is to party his ass off, then my own personal opinion is that he is wasting a lot of money. You can get wasted without using so many other resources. Think whatever you want to think, and I’ll think whatever I want to think. Just saying.

Do most people who sign up for Elder as a first choice get it? And also, just how much of a party dorm is it?
