Best Dorms To Party

Where are the best dorms if you just want to party your ass off.

heard slivka was pretty tight

… i’m kidding.

I heard south campus dorms are better for partying. But thats only what I’ve heard.

if you’re coming to school to party you’re obviously coming to the wrong school

Definitely North Mid Quads and South Mid Quads, Chapin, PARC, and Ayers CCI. You would not believe the crazy **** that goes down in those dorms.

Wow, Ayers CCI? I thought they were supposed to be on the quieter side.

Hahaha, arbiter was being sarcastic.

Ahahaha. Oops, my bad. Didn’t know anything about the reputations of PARC or Chapin.

Anyway, to the OP, I think it’s mainly Bobb-McCulloch that parties a lot.

there is no party in the dorm here
it all depends on what kinda ppl you hang out with
there are social/party type of ppl in every dorm
but the parties here are so lame anyway

I wasn’t just being sarcastic- the OP’s outlook and the way they framed their question angered me, so I wanted to hamper their plans.

College is for fun, but people with the OP’s outlook frequently end up being tools and making the normal students lives worse.

Or it might just be a fun-loving, easygoing person…

I’ve met miost of the people who posted threads like this on the facebook group for the class of 2011. That’s not what they’re like.

I apologize if that was a bit harsh. However:

[Student found dead in Foster House - Campus](http://media.www.dailynorthwestern.com/media/storage/paper853/news/2008/05/30/Campus/Student.Found.Dead.In.Foster.House-3380355.shtml)

He was a friend of mine.

I’m sorry you knew him, it’s really sad what happened…

So I understand you correctly, what does that have to do with students who want a party environment? Are you linking those kids/partying to your friend’s passing, or are you just saying you were in a bad mood, hence the harshness? (I honestly can’t tell.)

A little of both. His dorm’s party environment directly contributed to his death. But I’m being particularly harsh in light of it, yes.

I knew him from a discussion section, he seemed like a good guy. Do they know what happened yet? I heard alcohol poisoning…

That’s what I believe happened, though I can’t know for sure till the autopsy results are released. But from the story of what happened, I’d go with that.

Rest in peace, Matthew Sunshine. I don’t know him personally, but he’s friends with some of my friends used to hang out on our floor in Allison.

Dear Members of the Northwestern Community:

As I reported to you yesterday, one of our undergraduate students, Matthew Sunshine, died yesterday. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office today ruled that the cause of death was alcohol-related. The University is extremely saddened by this and extends our deepest sympathies to Matthew’s family and friends for their profound loss.

This unfortunate death serves as a tragic example of the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption. This phenomenon occurs on college campuses nationwide and Northwestern is not immune from such societal issues. Nevertheless, it is devastating to lose a member of our community in this manner and we are all affected by it.

As you know, Northwestern provides extensive education regarding the prevention of alcohol abuse to students as part of freshman orientation. Those messages are reiterated through residence hall meetings and other forums. However, we know that some students occasionally engage in risky behavior involving alcohol. Therefore, we urge you to consider this event as a reminder of the potentially tragic results of such behavior.

A memorial vigil for Matthew will be held at the Rock Thursday, June 12 at 9:30 p.m. There will be time for Matthew’s friends to share their memories and thoughts at this time of great sadness. Some students are planning to put together a scrapbook in which messages of condolence may be written after the vigil. The scrapbook will be sent to Matthew’s parents. All are welcome to attend.

If there are questions about this vigil, please contact University Chaplain Timothy Stevens at 847-491-2298 or at chaplain@northwestern.edu.

When you entered Northwestern, we asked you to take care of yourselves, take care of your friends and take care of your community here at Northwestern. As this school year draws to a close, marked by this tragic event, we hope that you will continue to keep your personal welfare and that of your fellow students in mind, and in doing so, help us protect all the members of our community.

Some people are mad that it includes a “we told you so” type lecture in the letter, and think that it should have come seperately than together with the COD letter

As a friend of his I agree, but in an abstract sense I don’t see a problem with it. Which is a sort of strange mindset to be in.

this thread took a funny turn. i think the funniest part was that Matt Sunshine’s dorm was referred to as a “party environment” when in fact it was a smelly, depressing res hall consisting of some of the most socially awkward misfits at NU. please dont flame me for this, i really am only speaking the truth about the general vibe of the dorm, not everyone in it.

without a doubt, Bobb Hall is the legendary party dorm on campus (although it was a more tame than usual this year). if you want to actually enjoy your undergrad experience and make pretend that NU is a real Big 10 school, then live in Bobb or Elder your freshman year. if you insist on living on south campus, then Allison is the only decent dorm down there. for the record, i was fortunate enough to live in Allison my freshman year and Bobb as a sophomore
