Why do you want to go to an Ivy League university? Although they do have excellent programs in English lit, it’s just an athletic conference, and there are lots of excellent programs in English literature that aren’t at Ivy Leagues - like Stanford, Berkeley, Chicago, and Virginia.
There are lots of universities in the U.S. that offer a master’s in English. You have to visit their webpages to find out whether they offer an MA. A lot of top programs only offer a PhD program - for example, the only Ivy League universities that actually offer an MA in English literature are Penn and Columbia. Cornell offers an MFA in creative writing, and one of the other ones (I don’t remember which) offers an MA in comparative literature. But you have to look it up in order to see about it.
Why do you want an MA in English literature? And why do you think you need to go to a school that is very prestigious? English lit programs at prestigious universities are really expensive, and are expected to be funded primarily with loans unless you are very lucky.
