best entrance to caltech

in the coming weekend, some of my relatives are going to be visiting me and i would like to take them sight seeing in pasadena, more specifically Caltech. i want them to have a good first impression, so where is the best/prettiest entrance to the campus, i.e. where’s the place the dignitaries arrive? is there a “main” entrance to caltech? are there any other places in pasadena you would recommend i take them? thanks.

The main entrance is the one on E California Blvd, but the big parking lot is on S. Holliston Ave. There’s a small parking lot on the other side of the street by the main entrance, but I don’t know how full it gets.

-Oren

I recommend walking in where the Olive Walk starts on South Wilson. You’ll see two turquoise domes, and if you stay on the Olive Walk, you’ll see Millikan, Throop Gardens/Pond, the olive trees, and finish at the Athenaeum.

Close your eyes as you pass the library… ;)

I agree the Olive Walk is the prettiest part, but I really like that new building too. Becker?

Best entrance to Caltech? Study hard… :)
