<p>Why do you consider them to be safeties? Can you afford them? Are you flat-out guaranteed admission to any of them?</p>
<p>At least two of them would be out-of-state for you. Run their Net Price Calculators with your parents, and see what you all think about the numbers.</p>
<p>I’m no expert at these schools but Purdue and Penn St are land-grants so they’re likely to have a larger emphasis on engineering than things like sociology. Probably not so much for Penn st since it’s such a huge college. I think Purdue has a good medical school though.</p>
<p>These are pretty selective colleges. Might not work very well as safeties</p>
