Best Global Universities Rankings

US News releases this Best Global Universities Rankings http://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/rankings?int=9cf408
Princeton is ranked #13, while UCLA is #8. (No offensive here, just not common to see a ranking that put UCLA ahead of Princeton).

The same US News ranks Princeton as #1 http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities?int=9ff208 and UCLA as #23.

Any thoughts about these two rankings from the same old school US News?

Princeton doesn’t have anywhere near the graduate schools and faculty that most of the other schools on the top ten list have so they don’t compare well using the methodology of the Best Global Universities survey. On the other hand, they have a heckuva undergraduate school and that’s why they top the best colleges list,

And none of this matters if Princeton is not a good “fit” for you. It may be, since I don’t know you, but please look to more than rankings. And no, I am not lobbying for Yale either. Same applies there too.

I agree! I think these rankings (which really should be taken with a grain of salt) speak to Princeton’s strength in and emphasis on undergraduate-focused teaching.

Well…

^^^ Updated.

<a href=“NRC Rankings Overview: Computer Sciences”>http://chronicle.com/article/NRC-Rankings-Overview-/124721/

Yeah, for graduate rankings, forget USNWR. Used the NRC, either S-Ranking or R-Ranking.

UCLA before Princeton? what acid are they on?
