Totally ok with bias opinion here. I hear some houses are more social than the others. Some dominate more in dodgeball (Flawless Wallace). All comments are welcome!

I’d like to extend this question to what are the best houses throughout all the dorms at UChicago? And why?

This is a completely biased opinion.
Wallaaaaaaaacccccccce.
Yeah, Wallace house is the best. It’s the smallest house in Max P; therefore, it has the greatest house spirit. The house community is also pretty close-knit, and the RHs (from what I’ve seen so far) are freaking awesome.

I was in Rickert House (just above Wallace in Max West) during my first year and I loved it. I struck lucky with Housing placing me with my roommate and suitemates – the four of us got along immensely well (so well, in fact, that we would have frequent suitemate outings). I would rate Rickert’s house camaraderie a 6.5 out of a 10 pt scale that year. There were definitely groups that formed at the beginning of the year, but I’ve seen the same phenomenon across most Max houses on the whole. That’s just what happens when you have a large group of people with a large spectrum of interests. Rickert is also pretty small – not as small as Wallace, though.

I’ve heard that Max is considered the social dorm at large. That they throw parties. Does this mean it is difficult to study in the dorm on the weekends? Do some throw more parties than the others. Are others better studying environments?

The Reg is right outside Max P if you ever need to study.

Does the way a room is set up, vary from house to house? Do some houses have bigger rooms than others?

Woodwhat? Woodwardddd!
