I want to design my own major (something leading to eventual Master’s in occupational therapy).
I want to go to a LAC.
My weighted GPA is 4.5
Grades are usually As, some Bs, and one C
Currently the only school I know of that I have a chance of getting into that I can design my major is Goucher.
Does anybody know of any others?

Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.

…do you think I can get in there?
first try SAT was 1270 (of 1600)

Hampshire is more oriented around fit than scores. If you check it out and are sure it will be a good fit for your personality then I think you would get in

thanks to both! colleges where students often design their own major seem to be few and far between…maybe I’m not looking in the right places? Many colleges offer a student-designed major but the process to design your own seems difficult and uncommon in some of them.

Consider the availability of courses at an LAC that will prepare you for a master’s in occupational therapy. It’s hard to design a major if the relevant courses aren’t offered.

Yes Hampshire is PERFECT if you want do design a major, and they are not one of the most selective SATs , but they are still pretty good.

I’m pretty sure Hampshire is SAT optional

I know that Connecticut College allows students to design their own interdisciplinary majors…(recent examples I’m aware of are International Journalism and BioEthics)
