I am looking for the best laptop for college students like me.I researched from the expert sites the new york times and other trusted sources and pick the Apple 2026 MacBook Neo 13-inch Laptop and theLenovo 2026 Premium Business & Student Laptop.Please tell me which one is best for me.I need only for study.
If you can, wait to see where you will matriculate. Some schools/majors have strong suggestions for types of computers and configurations.

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand that different colleges may have their own recommendations. The reason I’m looking to buy a laptop now is that I want to use it before college starts to prepare for my courses, learn new concepts, and build some extra knowledge.
I also plan to start a small online business to help cover my study expenses and daily needs, so I really need a laptop as soon as possible. I still appreciate your advice, and I’ll keep my future college’s requirements in mind before making the final choice.Please tell me which one is best for my needs.Now you also know my all needs.

If you are needing to purchase a laptop to operate a small business, I would keep in mind that most sources are now recommending a minimum of 16GB RAM. A major criticism of the new MacBook Neo is that it only comes with 8GB RAM. Do keep in mind that DDR4 RAM and DDR5 RAM are different; DDR5 RAM does offer more bandwidth & power; do you need it though?
I just recently purchased a certified-refurbished HP Elitebook on eBay with Windows 11 Pro, 16GB DDR4 RAM & 1TB SSD with an AMD Ryzen processor for just under $300, which has been a nice laptop which has been compared to the MacBook.
If you decide to purchase a refurbished laptop, I would recommend only Certified or Excellent condition. Certified comes with a two-year warranty & excellent comes with a one-year warranty.
You could buy a laptop up to half price & later on purchase a second laptop for college, possibly also up to half price, & with DDR5 RAM.

I use the Lenovo carbon X1. They have student discounts as many manufactures do. It is a business computer but powerful
My last one is like 8 year’s old and I had to o replace the battery once and fan once both like $25.00,on Amazon and simple to do
Less then 10 minutes.
I just got a new one but the old one keeps on going and was able to update to windows 11.
They’re also one of the lightest computers out there
So lugging it around isn’t an issue on campus. I get mine with 32 ram since when buying the sale was amazing and like they gave it away.
Compare to what your school is offering since they will at least meet that price. It’s not a gaming computer but bet it can handle it
Also there is no “best “computer and no one knows you. Lol. The best one is the one you’re happily using daily with no problems.
My son used MSI since he wanted to also game and used intensive software but honestly he’s had two and they don’t last. They’re very cool though. Back and forth to service for various things.
As stated if you have a trusty place buying referbed can save money. Apple and others manufactures have referbed units often great configurations also for a decent discount. You usually get the same exact warranties. Lots of people buy computers then realize they don’t need it. Also many will buy several and return unit’s they didn’t want to keep. This is very very common so you’re getting a new computer cheaper with the same warranties in place. For a student it’s a great way to go but read reviews also.
Also to add since many here will say how pricey they are. You can find several generations back from them and Amazon. It’s an amazing way to get a great computer for lots cheaper. I would go 1-2 versions back and make sure you can cleanly update to windows 11.
