<p>What’s the best value laptop that you can get for under $1500? I’m mainly looking for performance, battery life, and all-around easiness to use around college.</p>
<p>Right now I’m really leaning towards the HP Envy 17 3070, but it’s fairly big and I can’t seem to find another alternative without sacrificing more.</p>
<p>I was looking into Asus, but the computers I looked at seemed like they needed to be plugged in 80% of the time…</p>
<p>I have no experience on Macs.</p>
<p>Help?</p>
<p>Best value? … if you go to dell.com and look at laptops on sale you get get a perfectly fine laptop for something in the $500-$600 range and leave yourself $900 for a printer and a couple years of books … and there are even cheaper ways to go (buy used).</p>

I would lean toward a Lenovo W520 for that price. It’s a load of features.
You could get by with a refurbished 15" Macbook Pro, but I don’t know what you’re going to be using the computer for.
Lastly I would advise you from staying away from HP an Dell. The high failure rates and terrible customer service are just not worth it.

<p>Dell’s and HP’s consumer line of support is minimal but if you buy a Dell or HP business class machine your problems would be similar( percentage wise) to what an Apple laptop would give you.
I would recommend the Dell Precision M4600 or the HP Elitebook 2760p ( tablet pc ).</p>
<p>The HP Elitebook 2760p supports two batteries at the same time so you can have great battery life with it.</p>
<p>Definitely stay away from HP. I have an Asus ultrabook laptop and the battery life lasts 6-7 hours.</p>
<p>I would either go for one of the new "ultra books"out there (i know hp and dell both have them) or something with an amd lleno processor in it. Lenovo has these, and I think hp as well.
P.s. Dont think about brands as much as the laptop itself.</p>
<p>Hp business class machines are in another league when compared to their consumer counter parts.</p>
<p>Hint: Some of the HP business class machines use IPS panel LCD displays ( look it up if you don’t know what that is).</p>
<p>I can’t believe myself for this, but…Alienware. Their laptops are extremly cool, have solid performance and have no bloatware. Asus also offers their Republic of Gamers laptops, which have equal performance and less price, but less looks.</p>
