Im currently a high school junior and the topic of college is being talked about more and more every day. I know i want to be in the army and at first my major choice was Criminal Justice but based on the answers i got back, it is “worthless” and “a waste of time” Now im thinking about majoring in business admin/management and maybe a minor in CJ. Any input or thoughts are appreciated
The US Military Academy’s major offerings can give you an idea of what academic subjects it considers useful for US Army officers to have studied, although they may not necessarily be the only academic subjects that are useful for US Army officers:

Well, it depends on what you want to do in the Army. There are lots of different roles you can take on, and Army ROTC is the most flexible of the training programs when it comes to majors. Still, some fields are more in demand than others. Generally speaking, engineering fields, computer science, oceanography/meteorology, business (especially business fields with some math like operations research, supply chain management and industrial engineering), and critical foreign languages are good majors to take into an Army career. But there are lots of other roles in the military that value social science and humanities degrees - like psychological operations, chaplaincy, intelligence, etc.
I suggest you go to the Army website and check out what career fields there are and which ones have the highest demand. You also may want to speak with an officer recruiter.
Keep in mind that, while your major may potentially affect your Army MOS, the Army will ultimately place you somewhere based on its needs, not yours, and will train you to perform that job. Your major may end up being completely irrelevant.
@AuraObscura If you need to leave the service before retirement, the major you select will affect your opportunities afterwards. I highly recommend engineering/computer science.
