Best Places for UMDCP Sweatshirts etc

I’m a bit early here and this is somewhat of a frivolous question, but just in case the May 1st decision is UMDCP…where is the best place to buy those all important college hoodies and perhaps a shirt? The bookstore seems a bit expensive; are there other options? Quality?

I see Maryland gear at Kohl’s but I live in Montgomery County - if you are out of the area you might want to check Kohl’s online.

@woodsmom‌ The University Shop has a lot of stuff and it’s a little cheaper than the bookshop. It’s located in the shopping center at the corner of Rt 1 and Knox Rd. It’s right he the Starbucks and Chipotle.

I bought the same sweatshirts and tee shirts sold on campus at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s for about 20% of the cost. Of course the choices of size and style are quite limited, but you can get some great deals.

We’ve gotten some stuff at Target, but we live in MD, so it may be a local thing.

We have found the best UMD sweatshirts at Costco, if you are a member there is one just up route 1 from UMD. By far my favorite sweatshirt!

Yes, we found ours at Costco. Nice styles and well made.

4cookiemonster, that dog is adorable. Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with the thread… kohls has a big variety of UMD gear.

I also got my best UMd swag at Kohls – big selection, plus they had what I wanted (fierce-looking Testudo w/o words) – so for me it was actually better because the school store did not have the combination (RE color, no words, size, etc) that I was looking for.

Ah, Costco. That doesn’t surprise me at all since our Costco sells very nice college gear several times a year. Unfortunately, they only have the two big state schools in the local area which definitely does not include UMD. I looked online, but sadly didn’t see anything. Kohls does have a few things online, so that could be an option.

Thanks all for the suggestions, and if anyone thinks of any other place that has the sweatshirts/shirts online… please let me know.

Sometimes you can find a real gem on the bargain rack. It is on the lower level of the school store in Stamp.
