Best poli sci and econ programs?

I was wondering which of the schools, Tufts, U. of Chicago, UVA, or Berkeley, have the best economics and political science programs. I know that these school’s seem like a reach, and that is exactly what I am applying to them as, a reach. However, I woud still like to know which of these I have the best shot at and which has the best programs.

My hooks are that I am from a lower class family, a single mother, and am a first generation college applicant.
Also, if you think that my ec’s are weak please give advice on what you think I could do to strengthen them.

bump bump bump

All fine options, I also would add University of Iowa to your list. I myself will be attending there for political science and economics and couldn’t be more happy with my decision. In reality it’s the best choice.

Out of those schools, UChicago is probably the best for that combination. It’s very strong in both political science and economics. I think you probably have the best shot at Tufts because I know that UVA and UCB are extremely competitive for OOS applicants, which you are, and UChicago is tough no matter where you’re from. However, I can’t speak specifically to the strength of the programs at Tufts.
